Megan's 1st ever basketball season has finally come to an end. The OCO Tinkos division had their farewell banquet yesterday after their final game. All the kids got a trophy to commemorate their participation. It was a great time for the coaches to reminisce on fond memories of each of the players. Megan started this season totally clueless about basketball. During her first three weeks of games, she was very timid with all the boys whizzing around chasing the ball. Slowly with the encouragement of her coaches, she got the hang of it and started playing. By the end of the season, she was stealing balls and making baskets.

The kids were all amazed by the trophies that they earned. It was impressive to see all of the trophies lined up ready to be awarded.

Big thanks to Coach Andy for hooking up Tinkos with a fantastic banquet lunch. It was catered by Alex in the Kitchen. There was plenty of good food and good times to go around.

Jesse James is founder of OCO. He was the Basketball Director of OCO for over 20 years. He has since semi-retired from that position but still makes time to come out to watch the kids play and get to know the parents.
7)
Glen Tanaka is the President of OCO. If you think his name sounds familiar, that's because he's the owner of Tanaka Farms, here in Irvine. The kids always look forward to the fall season because that means they get to go visit Tanaka Farm's pumpkin patch and enjoy the autumn festivities.

The kids prepare to receive their trophies.

Each of the team coaches came up to introduce their players and present their trophy. Coach Kevin and Coach Mike did a great job with Megan's team (The Sea Serpents). My hat's off to all the coaches and parents who helped out to make this 1st basketball season, a great one to remember. See you all again next season!

Katie's mom, Kathleen made these great Wheaties Cereal boxes with all of the kids' pics on them. How cool was that?! Now if only Megan could land a nice Nike shoe endorsement contract, then daddy could retire.
